Peter Stone was a master. There was a scene in "Titanic" when previews began that covered the sinking of the ship so spectacularly that I was sad to see it go, being replaced by the musical sequence now centered around "We'll Meet Tomorrow". Don't get me wrong, they were right to cut it and replace it with a song, because the moment needed to be musicalized, but damn, the scene was a masterclass in stage writing.

And, of course, "Charade" is still one of the best written - and deliciously quotable - movies.
