It did win a few awards ( including Golden Globe wins for Best Musical, Best Actor and Best Actress in a Comedy/Musical, etc) but a noteworthy win was for BEST WRITTEN AMERICAN MUSICAL for SCREEN awarded by the WRITERS GUILD OF AMERICA ( WGA) given to Marion Hargrove
