A few other considerations:

In general, deaths are a bad metric. First, it is a trailing stat. (Also note that Dramedy's data is for May and things have changed a lot since then, at least in the non-stupid jurisdictions.) Second, today, the number of people who die is thankfully very small, so when that tiny number is the denominator, percentages don't mean as much as they seem. Third, the data does a lousy job of controlling for co-morbidities.

Hospitalization is a better although also not perfect metric. Per the CDC, again for May and it is undoubtedly lower now, 99.9% of hospitalized patients are not vaccinated. Lower but still not very statistically meaningful. There were only 320 people in the hospital in New York State yesterday. Also, there is no tracking of diagnostic codes.

Finally, for the small number of breakthough cases, the overwhelming majority are asymptomatic. We will likely never eradicate Covid 19 but we won't think about it. Also, every wave will bring more converts to the vaccination bandwagon. Look at what governors are pleading with their constituents now.
