I'm reminded on July 6, 2019 I was in Sydney AU to see the tour of Muriel's Wedding a The Lyric. Love dinner before the show and an amazing performance that I saw again and again in my week there. I had thought it would be coming to Broadway or Toronto but after the failure of King Kong (same producers) is the show on hold indefinitely?
It's a brilliant show that I listen on CD frequently and can remember every work of dialogue in between the songs. My heart break for Betty who only wanted to feel that her life was a good as an ABBA song. And Muriel who things that if she was married she would be somebody.
Brilliantly staged hitting all the film moments but has a theatrical voice as well, why hasn't Muriel's Wedding continued to entertain audiences? Maybe there will be an announcement for 2022. Has anyone else on this board seen the show in 2017 or the tour I saw in 2019? |
