| The show was originally meant to play a Toronto run in 2018 shortly after the initial Sydney season, however for various reasons that fell apart. The 2019 tour had to recast significant roles due to cast members having moved on - the actress playing Muriel, Margie McKenna, had moved to the US to play the girlfriend in a tour of "Dear Evan Hansen", the actress playing Rhonda had moved over to be in "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" in Melbourne (still running in both parts!) I suspect the agreements with US producers have fallen apart. Also Rebel Wilson feels like hideously wrong casting to me, from her UK experience in "Guys and Dolls" she had a tendency to go off script which would not suit the show. |
