I saw on Twitter this morning that the prolific stage and screen actor Suzzanne Douglas has died at 64. The linked article from the New York Post mentions that she was diagnosed with two "life-threatening cancers" earlier this year.

Douglas was on Broadway in the Sting/John Dexter THREEPENNY OPERA (as Jenny) and as an understudy in the original INTO THE WOODS. She worked regularly in regional theater, especially at George Street Playhouse in New Jersey. She also had a notable part in the recent Netflix series WHEN THEY SEE US.

Condolences to her family.

I saw her in Lady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill the year I moved to the tri-state area.

RIP Suzanne Douglass

Her performance in WIT at the George Street Playhouse was luminous and breathtaking

She was a magnificent and gifted actress. Her acting appeared effortless (which we know it is not). Saw her on stage 6 times-each experience she never disappointed including (IMHO) the thin material she worked with in AMERICAN SON. She will be missed. I would love to have seen her play the part of Linda Loman in a black version of DEATH OF A SALESMAN.
