Utah probe of Pioneer Theatre director and '2-time Tony nominee' raises resume questions

Anyone else been following the saga of Christopher Massimine? This broke last month, but I just found this Salt Lake City Tribune story.

In 2019, he was hired as the managing director of Salt Lake City's Pioneer Theatre Company. A new probe has questioned his credentials.

For instance, when the University of Utah announced his hire, it highlighted Massimine as a two-time Tony Award nominee. He isn't.

And his IMDB listing once had nearly 100 TV, film and video credits; it's now scrubbed clean. And he is on ''approved personal leave.''

This actually doesn’t bother me. Showbusiness is showbusiness. Good for him.

Amazing to me that you continue to discredit yourself with postings like this.

Yes, let's applaud the guy who defrauded the state of Utah out of taxpayer money. Who cares about ethics in show business?

So glad you approve of lying because “that’s show business”. Some of us treat our profession like a business not like a Warner Brother’s movie.

I guess I was heavily influenced by having watched Gold Diggers of 1933 and Footlights Parade this past week.

Before he was at Pioneer, Massimine was the Managing Director at Folksbiene. That's not nothing, but one wonders what was on his resume when they hired him.

(Also, is there any saga to follow? This is the same article that broke the story more than a month ago.)

Seth, whose credits are entirely fictional, but then again, so is the rest of him
