I saw the Broadway production from like the 8th row... while there were many sets, I never felt they swallowed the show or anything like that. If anything I found the production design appallingly lacking in creativity considering the inventive visual feast that is the film it's adapted from.
While the production was very very misdirected, I'd also say a mistake is hiring people who don't understand musicals to WRITE the musical. |
