Scott Rudin is producing this extravaganza, of course...

Well, if he wants to go whole hog and throw caution (not to mention good taste) to the wind, Rudin could coax Matthew Broderick and Jennifer Grey to croon (with just a hint of verisimilitude) a mash-up of "Greased Lightning/Driving By Night" and (for good measure) corral a sextet of OJ Simpson, Claudine Longet, Robert Blake, Carroll Baker, Phylicia Rashad, and Cosby to bring real honesty to "Cell Block Tango".

Just a thought (I am so bad).

Enlighten me about Carroll Baker, don't feel like Googling.

Recently Carroll Baker has gone overboard in supporting Bill Cosby and criticizing his accusers.

Did not know that. How disappointing. I USED to admire her. SO MUCH FOR THAT!

Really shitty of you to lump Broderick and Grey in with this grouping.

Well, the suggestion was that Scott Rudin should co-produce an imaginary show for Bill Cosby. Broderick's fine of 100 pounds was declared a travesty of justice by the victims' brother and son. His careless driving led to the deaths of two innocent people. For an entertainment that is not real, just make-believe, having Broderick and Grey perform a musical number that comments on an authentic crime struck me as being a legitimate reflection on celebrity justice. Certainly in 1987 worse things were said about this incident by recognized journalists.

Quite a bad taste mashup. Actual murderers, people involved in accidents and a sprinkling of folks who expressed sympathy or support to these wrong doers. All held equally responsible?

Certainly their offenses are not equal. I'm just suggesting that in an imaginary show, it would be poetic justice if they might comment on their misdeeds or misjudgments by performing musical numbers which reflect on their actions. My intent was to skewer celebrity privilege and/or justice.

I’m not easily offended — believe me — but the post listing Broderick and Grey, and, for that matter, Dunaway, with the likes of OJ was truly offensive. And as for Spacey … well, absent a conviction for proven criminal action and jail time, I think anyone is entitled to make a living.

Sorry, I didn't mean to offend. To be clear, I never mentioned Dunaway or Spacey.

The post I responded to was about an imaginary show with Cosby to be directed by Rudin. Considering the careless loss of life, I thought suggesting Broderick and Grey perform songs commenting on the misdeed was an appropriate way of expressing my feeling toward celebrity justice, which I think is a travesty. Don't you?

A very cheesy, unfunny list. Ms. Dunaway would wipe her shoes on you and walk on.

I never mentioned Dunaway. My post was not a list. Again I was responding to an idea for an imaginary Cosby show to be directed by Rudin. I grouped OJ, Longet, Blake, and Cosby because in the court of public opinion they were guilty of serious crimes for which our legal system let them off easy. I suggested that these 4 with two of their sympathizers (Rashad and Baker) perform "Cell Block Tango" as reflection on how celebrities are able to evade legal justice.

In 1987 Broderick (while vacationing with Grey) pled guilty to careless driving which took the lives of 2 innocent individuals. He paid a fine of 100 pounds. For this make-believe Cosby show, I suggested he and Grey do a mash-up of "Greased Lightning/Driving By Night", which I reasoned was an appropriate comment on his behavior.

I am sorry if I offended anyone. I wasn't trying to be funny. I was attempting to make a sardonic comment on the unfairness of our legal system which goes easy on celebrities who can afford high-priced lawyers. Ordinary individuals who committed similar acts would have ended up in prison for years.

I don't know. It made me laugh. Faye has kind of made her own bed.
