| I should not have implied that the Oscars debacle was Dunaway's fault. But she was complicit in what happened because, when Beatty hesitated to read the winner (because they had been handed the wrong card), she egged him on by saying "Come on!" just as he handed it to her....and the rest is history. Also, if she had been more together, she would have noticed that what was written on the card indicated that something was very, very wrong, and she or he would have asked for a clarification -- which is what it seemed like he was about to do when he looked offstage while hesitating to read the winner. |
