I never mentioned Dunaway. My post was not a list. Again I was responding to an idea for an imaginary Cosby show to be directed by Rudin. I grouped OJ, Longet, Blake, and Cosby because in the court of public opinion they were guilty of serious crimes for which our legal system let them off easy. I suggested that these 4 with two of their sympathizers (Rashad and Baker) perform "Cell Block Tango" as reflection on how celebrities are able to evade legal justice.
In 1987 Broderick (while vacationing with Grey) pled guilty to careless driving which took the lives of 2 innocent individuals. He paid a fine of 100 pounds. For this make-believe Cosby show, I suggested he and Grey do a mash-up of "Greased Lightning/Driving By Night", which I reasoned was an appropriate comment on his behavior.
I am sorry if I offended anyone. I wasn't trying to be funny. I was attempting to make a sardonic comment on the unfairness of our legal system which goes easy on celebrities who can afford high-priced lawyers. Ordinary individuals who committed similar acts would have ended up in prison for years. |
