| First show July 26 sold out quickly. Second show July 27 just went on sale on Today Tix. Has anyone seen Alex in concert? Any thoughts appreciated. Prices are a bit steep so just wondering…. |

| Alex was a headliner on a Vacaya gay cruise a couple years ago and didn’t disappoint. Elaborate gowns, big diva songs, huge personality. A lot of fun. | |

| Newell's part of a new ''Broadway at Tavern'' series. Next week brings Derek Klena, a Tony nominee for ''Jagged Little Pill,'' on Mon., July 19, and an encore of Ariana DeBose, a Tony nominee for ''Summer,'' on Tues., July 20. (Plus, she's playing Anita in Steven Spielberg's ''West Side Story.'') I imagine Newell's first show sold out, in part, due to his visibility on NBC's ''Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist,'' which was recently canceled. Glad to see music return to Tavern on the Green. Years ago, I saw wonderful cabaret singers, like Nancy LaMott and Tom Andersen, play there. |
