| I love Hamilton but it's ridiculous that a filmed stage version should even qualify for the Emmy's. | |

| True. And ''Sweeney Todd'' competed in the categories of Variety or Music Program. ''Hamilton'' is competing as Variety Special (Pre-Recorded). However, Angela Lansbury and George Hearn competed in ''Outstanding Individual Performance in a Variety or Music Program.'' (And Hearn won.) If that category still existed, that's where Miranda and Odom probably best belonged. But the Emmys discontinued that category after 2008. So Miranda & Co. were eligible in the acting categories of Limited or Anthology Series, even though ''Hamilton'' isn't a Limited Series, etc. |

| Comedy specials are eligible, and all they do is stick a camera into the theatre where the comedian is doing his act... | |
