True. And ''Sweeney Todd'' competed in the categories of Variety or Music Program. ''Hamilton'' is competing as Variety Special (Pre-Recorded).
However, Angela Lansbury and George Hearn competed in ''Outstanding Individual Performance in a Variety or Music Program.'' (And Hearn won.)
If that category still existed, that's where Miranda and Odom probably best belonged. But the Emmys discontinued that category after 2008.
So Miranda & Co. were eligible in the acting categories of Limited or Anthology Series, even though ''Hamilton'' isn't a Limited Series, etc. |
