Wyndham's Theatre vandalized during Euro final. But on the up side, Stoppard's LEOPOLDSTADT reopening.

Tens of thousands of pounds worth of damage was caused to the West End’s Wyndham’s Theatre on the day of the Euro 2020 final, owner Cameron Mackintosh has revealed in a letter to the government, in which he expressed "distress and astonishment" at the way crowds were handled.

About 50 people are reported to have broken through fencing at the 19th-century, grade II-listed theatre and climbed on to its canopy at about 5pm before the football match between England and Italy on July 11.

The Delfont Mackintosh theatre is closed, but is due to reopen on August 7 for the return of Tom Stoppard’s Leopoldstadt...
