Tens of thousands of pounds worth of damage was caused to the West End’s Wyndham’s Theatre on the day of the Euro 2020 final, owner Cameron Mackintosh has revealed in a letter to the government, in which he expressed "distress and astonishment" at the way crowds were handled.
About 50 people are reported to have broken through fencing at the 19th-century, grade II-listed theatre and climbed on to its canopy at about 5pm before the football match between England and Italy on July 11.
