... I can see both sides. I like paper tickets, but if I'm honest, only to stick in my playbill. I've certainly been careful to handle less paper from other people in the last year, and I can understand why it would be desirable to have theatre staff do the same. I don't think that any of the "problems" cited—no smart phone, dead batteries, etc.—are anything that can't be resolved at the box office upon arriving at the theatre. (And I doubt paper tickets are going to entirely disappear anyway. After all, TKTS will still be there.)
Frankly, I'm more disappointed at the prospect of programs going all digital... and we started down that path before Covid even hit.
