In the 1981 TEMPEST at the Delacorte starring Raul Julia, directed by Lee Breuer and Ruth Maleczech, the play began with a helicopter circling close overhead the stage then disappearing from sight in a tailspin as if crashing, followed by Prospero (Julia) and entourage stumbling onstage as if tossed from the copter.
