What I don't understand is what are the helicopters doing over Central Park? Are they tourist businesses that tour the area or are they commuter routes. I always assumed that the commuter routes for helicopters were fixed along the two rivers.

I'm glad fans of the park and Shakespeare are raising a fuss. From the way the FAA is responding to Rep. Nadler, it feels like the FAA is still in Trumpland.

And indeed all helicopters is that they have to be a 1000 feet higher than the tallest object within 2000 feet. Bare in mind though that Central Park is only 2640 feet wide so they have to be careful to be 1000ft higher than the buildings that run it’s edges unless they are in the very center. That’s still pretty low though!!

I was all ready to agree that surely they are banned over Manhattan but that is only open door trips.
