| I expected the usual auditory onslaught, but I heard helicopters only two or three times during the performance, and they seemed to be higher up in the sky and not directly overhead. So maybe the campaign is starting to work. Still, I don't know why helicopters can't be banned over that part of the park except in cases of dire emergency. Air space is highly regulated for all sorts of reasons. Why not that area? |

| Aren't at least some of the helicopters working in fact in an emergency situation (transport to medical facilities)? Or are all of these going over the park private or tour helicopters? | |

| because they don't seem to be in a hurry to be getting anywhere! I wouldn't want to be a patient in one of those things. Also, in Manhattan, we don't have too many emergency helicopters on a regular basis because ambulances make transport quick enough. |

| NYPD's helicopters seem to get pretty constant use, emergencies or not. They thunder back and forth over my house in Brooklyn several times a day, at least. (Their base is at Floyd Bennett Field, so I'm on their way to pretty much anywhere.) | |
