| Marilyn Maye DID have a hit with Step to the Rear. But she only recorded it ( as she had other show tunes like Cabaret and Sherry). She did not appear in the show. Marilyn Mason, another full voiced belter was in the show ( but did not introduce that number). Maye then recorded it for a Lincoln Mercury commercial which played for a number of years(and for which she received a new leased Lincoln every one of those years). |
