Webber wasn't proposing spraying audiences with an untested chemical spray, that is true, but he also went out of his way to (hyperbolically) accuse scientists of being "frightened", saying that health officials were obstructing the (Conservative) government's enthusiasm to attempt a trial of the spray. Not the words of a serial killer, but in an era where moneyed interests are questioning scientists in their rush to re-open their businesses, this is more extreme to me than "simply propos(ing) a trial of some thing that may have worked". |
