"I’m seeing a lot of You Tube ads for this production, but they don’t tell me anything the play except that the New York Times liked it. The logo is classy but empty, the tag line is inspirational but generic, and nothing about the marketing I’m getting gives me any clue as to why I should want to see it or what the experience will be like."
This sounds an awful lot like the marketing for The Inheritance, which really hurt the show IMO. Is there any overlap between the team involved with Pass Over and The Inheritance?
And I share your concern that there are a bunch of shows targeting the same audience, but without making it clear why their specific show is the one to see. I think that's a recipe for none of them breaking through and being successful.
