| My error. I remembered him attending an awards show, but it wasn't in honor of him. It was the AFI Tribute to Diane Keaton. | |

| Diane Keaton is another worthy Kennedy Center Honoree. Outside of the Broadway spectrum, when are they going to honor Bob Newhart?? |

| That’s a VERY worthy idea! | |

| THIS. Aside from his 3 successful TV shows (two of them all-time classics), and his not-inconsequential movie roles (which is how most millennials likely know him, from things like Elf, or The Big Bang Theory) — how many comics have hit #1 on the all-over Billboard Top 100 albums chart… let alone twice in a row, as he did in the 1960s. (And one of which won the Grammy for Album of the Year.) So, stand-up, recordings, film, and especially TV… not to mention an honoree that I think would be controversy-free, even by the standards of ‘old white guy’. And at 91 years old, it seems like they’re cutting it almost as close as they did with Dick Van Dyke! |
