I, for one, am incredibly grateful for this. As much as I loved IN THE HEIGHTS, I was continually frustrated by the rapid-fire editing that never let me 'take in' the choreography (or truly feel the power of the number). I understood its use in "96,000" (the montage was the point, I guess), but the number that just flowed (the beautiful dance on the side of the building) stood out because it wasn't chopped up.
I'm loving Schmigadoon!, as slight as it is. I just wished they had dropped all the episodes at once so we could just appreciate it as a fun binge. Keegan Michael Key never fails to surprise me-- if Hollywood gives him the right opportunities, he could have a career like Tom Hanks (except Key can also sing). |
