| DANI B PRODUCTIONS in association with BROADWAY BOUND THEATRE FESTIVAL Proudly Presents the World Premiere of BRILLIANT A New Musical Written by DANI TAPPER Directed by MISTI WILLS LIMITED ENGAGEMENT SEPTEMBER 28 – OCTOBER 2, 2021 AT THEATRE ROW TICKETS ON SALE NOW AT BFANY.ORG DANI B PRODUCTIONS is pleased to announce the world premiere production of Dani Tapper's BRILLIANT, The Musical, musical directed by Casey Reed (Miss Saigon (Broadway Revival)) and directed by Misti Wills. BRILLIANT will play four performances only at Off-Broadway's Theatre Row (410 West 42nd St. NY). Performances are September 28 5:00pm, September 29 2:00pm, September 30 5:00pm, October 2 2:00pm. Sarah, a devoted wife and mother, tries desperately to support her atypical son until his disruptive behaviors become too difficult to manage and she is compelled to make a decision that will affect his future and their relationship. According to playwright Tapper, "I wrote BRILLIANT because I felt it was important to share this very personal story with other parents so they know they are not alone in their struggle to support their atypical child. It is a universal story for parents. BRILLIANT focuses on the love we have for our children and how we would do anything to make things better for them. I also believe this show will comfort parents who feel isolated and alone because of the demands they have caring for a child with special needs". The production stars Kim Suskind (Jon and Jen, Eagle Theater) as Sarah with Hayden Bercy (The King and I, National Tour) as Adam, Courtney Dease (Off-Bdwy: Between Panic and Desire) as Jake, Asher Edgecliffe Johnson (TV: SNL) as young Adam, EmmaLee Kidwell as Kat, Maria Panvini as Julie/Dr. Ellen, and Morgan Scott (REWIND: An Original 80's Pop Musical) as Meagen/Mrs. Cooke. The production features scenic design by April Marie Bartlett (The Today Show art director) and lighting design by Dan Henry. After leaving NY in 1997 she began a carer in Cleveland, OH as an award-winning children's performer performing under the stage name, Dani B. Her two original CD's, Me and You and Life is Sweet won several national awards. In Cleveland, Dani also established her own program of children's music and theatre classes and was an active member on the Board of the Heights Youth Theatre, the longest-running children's theatre in the country. In 2009, Dani moved with her husband and three children to Philadelphia, PA where she continued to perform her children's music shows. She also was the composer/lyricist for the original musical, Class Reunion. In 2018, Dani established the Lower School Musical theatre program at the Shipley School in Bryn Mawr where she is currently the director. MISTI B. WILLS (Director) is an award-winning director and educator based in Manhattan. She directed Bone on Bone in the inaugural year of the Broadway Bound Festival and is thrilled to return with this production. She recently directed The Winter's Tale at Stella Adler Studio of Acting, Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder in Greenville, SC and My Real Mother (New York Musical Festival, Signature Theatre) on Off-Broadway. Additional credits include; The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Ovation Recommended Sister Act (5 Star Theatricals, Best Director and Best Overall Production in Subscriber Awards) in L.A., NYC premiere of A Pound in Your Pocket (by Charles Strouse/Lee Adams), Floyd Collins, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Ordinary Days, Shake the Earth (2015 NY Fringe Festival, Theater is Easy Best Bet), The Drunken City (NY Workshop Theatre), Afterlight (Cherry Lane, NYC Fringe Festival), Songs for a New World, Twelfth Night (Shakespeare's Sister Co.), The Pearl Merchant (Threads Theater Company), Audition Class with Director Dash (Theatre East). Other regional; My Fair Lady (Forestburgh Playhouse), and New York Water (Depot Theatre). Misti has been on the acting faculties of The New York Film Academy and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Member Stage Directors and Choreographers Society.
