I don't think anyone would ever have objected to "a more orderly and less rushed entrance" but I don't think anything post-pandemic justifies it and expecting folks to sit in a cramped theatre for up to an hour with nothing to do doesn't solves any problem. If the goal were to get people in quicker, doubling the number of scanners would be cheaper and far less logistically complicated.
