The sound was a big improvement over what would have been heard at this venue before the make-over that created the shell. It was so good that distractions (pleasure boats cruising by, the occasional plane - and one helicopter - flying nearby) became major annoyances to my ears. At least where I was sitting, the audience did not chat throughout the concert. The singers’ diction was crystalline, which, I’m sure, helped the audience to listen carefully instead of using the music as background for socializing.

I generally haven’t reviewed concerts, and I didn’t contact management about reviewing this one, so I didn’t bring materials to take notes. The program was a mix of old and new, familiar and not familiar. The two additional songs I can recall that Ms. O’Hara sang were “I Could Have Danced All Night” from “My Fair Lady,” and “So in Love,” from “Kiss Me Kate.” The last time I saw Ms. O’Hara live was in the revival of “Kiss Me Kate,” and I remembered her singing that song.

Really wish I had taken notes so that I could be more detailed!
