| Again, this is beyond a moot point, as it’s complete apples and oranges. Girl from the North Country doesn’t need to have an official ‘re-opening night party’ to invite nominators and voters to see it. On the other hand, Tony history is littered with shows that were ineligible because they either didn’t invite the Tony committees, or that closed too quickly for any voters and/or nominators to see it (e.g. Carrie), including a few that ran officially for even longer than West Side did, but that were still not able to qualify. The same will clearly be the case for this retroactively misbegotten West Side. |
