| I agree with what you said in the other post. With a show that has any significant pre-show calls, opening the house 15 (or 30) minutes earlier means backing up those calls by the same amount of time. And I still don't understand what the perceived benefit is. As I said, I would not think that the idea of spending an extra 15 minutes in most Broadway theatres is appealing. But the answer to the question you pose here (like most questions) is that it depends. On a variety of things that are show specific. A few examples: is there a curtain? Is there a fight call? Are there scenic elements that require placement etc after the stage has cleared? and on and on. The bottom line is that out of any random 10 shows, at least one, probably more, is going to require backing things up timewise beyond the standard call times. And that means an expense. | |
