| They will and my guess is that it will happen well before the end of THIS season. Why? Because what we are going to have instead is the casual release of the grosses when they are "interesting" and that's going to mean a lot of bad news is going to come out as gossip and not any of the middling news. (To be sure, TMM and Hamilton will trumpet their successes.) It's a dumb idea to withhold it and the naive fools who decided this will realize just how much they have lost control of their own narrative. [Remember also that not publishing the grosses does not mean that the information is secret: lots of people get the grosses every week contractually, and none of them have a contract that prohibits nondisclosure. We will know and folks will be posting the info here and everywhere. Riedel may wake up and get in on the act when it is juicy, as well as more respectable journalists. Oh and one more thing that no producer wants to see: screen shots of seating charts showing an abundance of unsold seats. I've already seen one on twitter for Pass Over and, sadly, it is not a pretty sight. You get the point.] |
