When Chicken Little cries "Too Early!" – I always wonder what "too early" means, compared to, say, "Just right" or "Coulda done this a while ago."
Is "too early" anytime before the virus mutates to one of the less-lethal annual flu viruses, as did the 1918 virus? That could take some years; maybe not.
It's interesting that Broadway shows never closed during the 1918 epidemic. We'll never know how many people died then as a result of going to see a show, any more than today, when the routes of urban infection are unlimited.
And yes: the Covid crisis is over for the vaccinated. The chances of a "breakthrough infection" are microscopic. They will never be nonexistent – and neither will be excessive Covid hysteria. |
