The year 1962 was a crucial one for Streisand. She made her Broadway debut (stopping the show and receiving a Tony nomination). She appeared on the Tonight show, the Garry Moore show 9where her "Happy Days are Here Again" was developed), signs with Colombia records, and completes her last engagement at the Bon Soir. She was 20. Already, she had the style, voice, confidence and drive which only became more refined and developed. With the addition of driving and sophisticated arrangements by Peter Matz she was really cooking! Watch her more than hold her own the next year opposite Judy Garland. Garland has to really sit up and deliver because she realizes this young girl is the real deal.
