| I acknowledge everything you've pointed out. Much of what I was saying was in relation to the "late stage capitalism" meme because in that context there is a class that sits below virtually all young unemployed actors. One other thing that fits into this discussion is that there is an enormous amount of very cheap/free theatre of high quality available today and it provides a young unemployed actor with what I would say is a very robust experience. And that includes early previews of soon to be Broadway hits as well as then pretty unknown off-Broadway efforts that manage to find their way into theatre history. |
