| I saw the workshop/backers' audition that Mr. Yazbeck and Ms. Osnes did after the West Coast production fell through. IMHO, substantial book changes would have to occur in order for it to play to today's audiences. Especially the plot point where the older producer character is chasing the young chorus dancer and trying to bed her. Also, some of the humor fell flat in that attempt but I don't know if any book changes were even incorporated for the workshop. Perhaps going forward they have made changes. |
