| As I recall, there's no mention of Mr. Brice. Therefore, an older man has special appeal to Fanny because he's a de facto father figure. And how about Robert Creighton (Cagney) as Eddie? Frank Langella as Ziegfeld? Klea Blackhurst as Mrs. Brice? |

| As I recall, there's no mention of Mr. Brice. Therefore, an older man has special appeal to Fanny because he's a de facto father figure. I know that the show is not a biography, but in real life, Arnstein was not quite 2 years older than Brice. Why make him a de facto father figure out of the blue? |

| Agreed, but I think the "de facto father figure" explanation only came up because Cannavale IS old enough to be Feldstein's father. | |
