I just read the first page, which is confusing enough. Orwell had a lot of issues but he would have hated the right wingers who use his work as a marching flag. My guess the same would be true of C.S. Lewis, that he would have hated his quietly impassioned defenses of Christianity being used by the Christian right.
Let alone, WWJD?, as they say. I tend to think Jesus wouldn't even recognize the "Christian Right" as Christians. On the other hand, with our world of conspiracy theories, if Jesus were to come back nowadays, they'd all laugh and call him "fake news."
