But also the Baker doesn't require a powerhouse singer (and generally isn't cast with one), so the role is open to countless interesting possibilities of performers. There are many POC talents on and off broadway, who do or do not have Joshua Henry level vocal ability, who would have been exciting, or creative, or compelling, or just new visions of this role. |
