| And for the record I’m someone who abhors that term. But I’ve spoken to around a hundred industry professionals over the course of this weekend (the past 3 and a half days, really), including several who know her – not one of them would ever work with her or hire her again, not one of them even KNOWS anyone else they think would work with her again, and all of them said they’d be surprised if she ever worked again, at least anywhere in the realm of New York City and professional theater, unless something really changed the narrative in the near future. That clearly didn’t happen, and this was her best chance; so as hard as it is to believe for a 35-year-old multiple Tony-nominated ingenue who’s starred in half a dozen Broadway musicals over the last decade… she’s done. |

| "And for the record I’m someone who abhors that term." And for the record, she is NOT canceled. If anything, she's taken herself out of the running. Perhaps that's "self-cancellation," but then again, I don't think we need some newfangled term for it. We really need to get rid of "cancelled" as it's already a cliched term that is losing its meaning rather quickly, that, as you have just shown us, can easily be used arbitrarily and nonsensically even by those people that claim to hate it. |
