| I tend to feel that most people that really want to leave a group just leave without any fanfare or notice. Those that have to post a long and bitter "farewell" are often looking to be talked out of it. So I'll say it. Billhaven, I wish you would stay. However, if you're going to go, you have your reasons, and sometimes it IS healthy to step away, at least for a while. Perhaps you'll come back when you feel you can? |

| If they have been part of an online community for twenty years or so for example. It’s drawing a line under something, a funeral for a past habit, an explanation for anyone that would miss him. I think a lot of the angry behavior here including occasionally my own reflects the stressful times we live in. Losing people, stress of what will happen next, dealing with people that won’t get vaccinated that you know in real life for what you see as stupid reasons, working from home etc The board has changed of course, I think in the past people were delighted to be able to talk to each other and make comments and now we are all too used to that and take it for granted. So there is an irony to me that when I lived in London I would meet new people from this board in real life all the time and now I live in New York I have never met anyone. | |
