Jane, congrats and thanks for bringing Rick McKay's marvelous vision of ''Broadway: Beyond the Golden Age'' to PBS.

It was such a time capsule of remarkable memories. I especially enjoyed hearing Elizabeth Ashley and Robert Redford regale us with their tales of being in a Broadway flop (''The Highest Tree'') and then being reunited in a Broadway hit (''Barefoot in the Park''). By the way, happy birthday to Redford, who turns 85 today. I only wish this Hollywood star had returned once more to the Great White Way after his ''Barefoot'' youth.

Anyway, with the hours and hours of interviews Rick must've racked up, his ''Broadway'' really deserves a much longer run as a multi-part series.

I really enjoyed it, but it seemed like my PBS affiliate made cuts to it for pledge breaks. Not quite as all-encompassing as the first one, but still a worthy companion film.

Enjoyed it so much, especially the home movies. I hope the DVD is packed with stuff that got left out. Even more, I wish the entire footage was available somewhere for research, or that there could be transcripts.

Laura, salivating at the historical material in those interviews
