Jane, congrats and thanks for bringing Rick McKay's marvelous vision of ''Broadway: Beyond the Golden Age'' to PBS.
It was such a time capsule of remarkable memories. I especially enjoyed hearing Elizabeth Ashley and Robert Redford regale us with their tales of being in a Broadway flop (''The Highest Tree'') and then being reunited in a Broadway hit (''Barefoot in the Park''). By the way, happy birthday to Redford, who turns 85 today. I only wish this Hollywood star had returned once more to the Great White Way after his ''Barefoot'' youth.
Anyway, with the hours and hours of interviews Rick must've racked up, his ''Broadway'' really deserves a much longer run as a multi-part series. |
