| ...when the first eight rows of the orchestra turn out to be on a revolve that turns upstage during the dance at the palace. Part of the theatre design -- converts the space to in-the-round for some shows, apparently there are hydraulic lifts to increase the rake when the seating is upstage. | For me it was the most magical part of the show. The Ball takes place in the round and the lighting is brought out into the auditorium creating a lovely little atmosphere. Too bad the magic is nothing to do with the actual show itself, just the venue it's in. |

| Actually, I would be sure it's not at all a spoiler - wouldn't the people sitting in those seats need to be told they were going to be moving? | |

| I think that would depend on how many people go to a Lloyd Webber show expecting to be moved. ~pcot |

| I do. And have been. Often. It depends on what one wants, but I find many of his shows extremely moving. And although I haven’t seen it, the cast recording of “Cinderella” is by turns hilarious and charming and the finale left me teary-eyed. |

| Didn't the original production of CATS do similar, that is, rotate the front rows to the rear of he stage during the overture? | |
