just as Barry Manilow was in the middle of a set. Ironically, the announcers on CNN said that his next song was going to be "I Made It Through the Rain". It's not raining, but there was lightning, and they've told people to find shelter, which is hard in the middle of Central Park. Lots of folks still had been hanging around. Mayor de Blasio hasn't helped by coming out giving conflicting information that they show will resume. Very good concert up to that point. Highlights included the opening with NY Philharmonic doing the "Candide Overture" then selections of NY songs/themes -- parts of "Rhapsody in Blue", "New York, New York" from "On the Town", ending with the other song of that name, the Kander & Ebb one. Other performers included Carlos Santana, Earth Wind & Fire, Andrea Bocelli, Jennifer Hudson (doing her version of Aretha Franklin's version of "Nessun dorma" and who knew Ms. Hudson had a very lovely head voice when she wants to show it!), Jon Batiste, and LL Cool J and many hip-hop artists and rappers. CNN still reporting they are still unsure if the concert will resume.
