| I would like to be reminded of any play that was seen in New York that dealt in some fashion with Alzheimers and/or dementia... Suggestions? | |

| There was a very good production of The Treasurer in Boston (Lyric Stage Company) that played just as the pandemic was causing everything to shut down - in fact, I saw the last performance of it, which would turn out to be the last in-person performance I would see, until now. A wonderful play. | |

| Wings is not about Alzheimers. The main character has had a stroke. |

| Yes, I was going to say the same thing. I first knew of the show through a PBS version that I saw at The Paley Center. I then saw the revival with Jan Maxwell. What beautiful production and she was brilliant. |

| I agree about “The Father.” Superb. There was also a play at the Vineyard by Colman Domingo called “Dot,” which wasn’t nearly so successful, but it treated a similar topic. | |

| Agree. Dot was tremendous. Susan Stroman directed. This was the next project for Domingo and Stro after Scottsboro Boys. | |

| Sorry if I was unclear, but we don't agree. I didn't find "Dot" to be tremendous. I thought it was pretty silly--all that nonsense about fitting someone up with a suit to simulate the effect of aging, something like that? I didn't find the play very deeply explored or meaningful. I was floored a couple weeks later when I saw "The Father" about a similar subject, which I found intensely theatrical and riveting. | |
