| I was disappointed in the recording. It has its moments but there are some dreadful lyrics by Zippel and many songs sound like demos accompanied by an old Casio keyboard. I didn't think it was his worst score (that honour goes to STEPHEN WARD) but it comes close. That said, the reviews have been very positive and much of what was recorded has already been altered for the production. At least one song has been dropped (the "Sea Witch" number) and a lot of segments either removed or rewritten. I have tickets in October so will reserve any further opinions about the show until I see it. |
