No big surprises here, but I love it.
However it was only on the 2nd and 3rd listen that I started to.
I’m planning on writing a track-by-track review of the album (which I think I’ll share on here, despite it being very long!).
What surprises me isn’t so much that people don’t like it— it’s ALW, who often is not everyone’s cup of tea— but that people are finding Zippel’s lyrics weak. I think they’re fantastic. Easily his best lyrical contributor in ages (I also liked his work on Woman in White, but find Cinderella much stronger— possibly because it’s comedic$.
