A late summer appreciation of ATC and ATC posters
Posted by: dreambaby 02:04 pm EDT 08/27/21

Through the pandemic when there stopped being live theater to discuss, I've continued to value ATC as one of my favorite spots online to connect with community. I've recently valued the intelligent and informed discussions in response to anti-vaxxers in the theater, and some of the fabulous posts recently including fascinating details and insights by reed23 comparing the original and revival productions of CHICAGO, and the great tips and commentary by PlayWiz about the Rodgers and Hart-scored "Love Me Tonight" and other more obscure older film musicals.

Exploring the real political context of our lives and theater-going as well as tips on older entertainments (valued escapism in these times) - this combination is among the things I value about ATC and enjoy checking it out regularly. Thanks to Ann and to all the posters for keeping it alive.

by the secondary couple of "The Love Parade", Lupino Lane (original star of "Me and My Girl") and a young, brassy Lillian Roth. It's a very funny duet, directed by Ernst Lubitsch. Lane's acrobatic dancing style is unique and a marvel, and happily, Roth is no shrinking violet herself!

Just kidding. Seems to be the trend to post leaving not loving to stay.

But if I do, I'll try and summon up some grand drama for my exit.
