| No need for a Nationwide search just schedule auditions at The Neil Simon theatre and there will be over 1000 ( at least a thousand ) talented age appropriate young actors lined up for a week. The words Nationwide Search has my eyes spinning in my head. Heck we're not looking for Scarlett O'Hara after all adult Michael sells the ticket. Thriller has been playing for years in London and MJ will be a big hit. People wanna rock till the ceiling cracks. | |

| I can’t believe that musical is that old. I think it’s more of a publicity stunt to do a nation wide search. You are probably right that it will we a local kid that gets the part. I’m actually surprised they only want one kid. I would think that part would be rotated each week with 2 or 3 because of age. | |

| The Press Release doesn't say so, but the MJ The Musical website has the disclaimer: "It is not guaranteed that "Young Michael Jackson" will be selected from this submission pool." on it. Lessons were learned from the 1996 Annie contest. |

| The pushback on this show is going to be enormous. | |

| Depends on whether any pushback is only on social media or at the box office. Not the same thing. nm | |

| I don’t know… London and NYC are 2 different things. I would put money on it running less than a year. | |

| I know what you mean but the music will set it apart. Tina hits it out of the park but I thought Cher would have done better. The Donna Summer musical needed a B12 shot. Her music was cut up and storyline muddled. Once again Thriller on the West End packs them in for over ten years. | |

| But Thriller is a concert revue. | |

| I think once you start working a plot around his actual life, the controversy will emerge that may be unworkable. A few hit songs don’t seem to keep these bio musicals open for long on broadway. | |

| You are using pre-pandemic benchmarks. I don't see where a sustainable market is going to come from but we shall see. | |
