Her performance as Tina Turner ranks up there with some of the best I’ve ever seen, including Tina Turner herself.
But this pussyfooting about how long she’ll be playing the role (which she’s been doing a long time) is a complete turnoff. It’s landing as self-important. At least to me. I’ve been excited to see her play the role again (despite what is easily one of the worst books that have ever appeared on Broadway) — but I’m suddenly less so. And maybe it’s just best the show proceed without her. Jesus, just announce a final performance date. |
