| First of all I was not implying you are a racist but the ideas you were passing along, borne as they were of false "data" that we have come to expect of those trying to sell racist ideas and which I assume you just read somewhere, certainly were. And you of course prefaced your post with the defensive observations about racism. Let's move on from this; it is not my intention to take this thread off the rails. Second, I do not doubt that MTC had originally posted the alternative (and quickly changed it) but I think it was simply a sloppy mistake rather than some nefarious marketing plan. MTC does not get to set the policy on this: it is contrary to what they can legally do in NYC and their agreements with their unions. It is not just a matter of "not going along with" the League which is a non-entity in this context. If you want to apply a back story you can but I think it is far-fetched. I also think, as others have said and you have referenced, that MTC is going to have a challenging time drawing a healthy audience, as is almost everyone as folks navigate how they feel about sitting in a confined space for a relatively long time. I think this is particularly true for a good chunk of MTC's demographic. |
